Torque, torque and more torque! This package is nothing but power. The 14.4-volt cordless impact driver and the MForce drill put super strength in your hands for the toughest tasks.
Despite being beastly powerful, this impact driver is shockingly compact and lightweight, with a total length of under 7 inches and weighing in at a mere 3-1/2 pounds including the battery. But don’t let that mislead you -- impacts per minute range from 0 to 3,200, with a maximum tightening torque of 1,240 in./lbs. And the power doesn’t quit, either, because the nickel-metal-hydride battery packs a greater capacity and longer run time than standard nickel-cadmium versions. Even though it fits snugly in the hand, it’s an absolute dynamo in the power department, and the variable speed is smooth as silk.
There are two nifty light-related features on this Makita, and we weren’t all that impressed with them on paper. But in reality, the phosphorescent rubber bumper immediately catches your eye, whether you’re rummaging in your truck, fumbling in your garage or scanning the job site for any left-behind tools. And the integrated high-output LED really does light up the workpiece, saving you time and frustration. Comment: This is a great combo. The impact driver is a must and this is the best battery powered work light I've used. It puts out a lot of light and is way better that the flashlight type lights. I've pushed the impact driver way harder than it's probably intended but it's still going strong.

Comment: More power then my 19.2 Sears and I like my Sears I own 4 of them.
This was an impulse purchase, I'm glad I did it the tools are a great balance between power & handling and are becoming my go to tools.
I've been working with & buying power tools for nearly 50 years, some have been much better then others, these Makita's seem to be in the better category. Normally I like corded over cordless for the power but these are working out quite well.

the impact drive and drill have already been great. We host a "Thanksgiving in the Woods here on the farm and this event for 90 people is 1/2 mile from the house under a grove of hemlock trees. having the impact driver for remote assembly of tables, benches, etc was great. I bought this unit becasue I already had the same battery for an old drill, and with this new kit, I now have two drills and a driver. All work great.
however, the light has become a problem. last week, we in new england had a major ice storm and we were without power here on the farm for about a week. flashlights were a critical item, as well as generators, and more. this light was the mainstay item of survival, and the "On/Off" seitch on the light became unreliable, and thelight would go off randomly. when i was in the dark basement installing wiring to hook up the generator i lost light several times as I tried to toggle the push button switch. this was, and is still, a very bad thing, and hurt my overall view of the makita line of tools, which I had come to trust. Probably a 25 cent item that could be fixed esily.
so what I am left with, is how do i get service? I would have bought this at a local big box store, but this is an item they no longer carry. I am sure there is a thing i have to mail, etc, but i am right now too busy to deal with running to the UPS, writng up anything. I only did this on-line now as part of clean-up of e-amils, need to run.
Still have an untrustowrthy light standing on the floor next to my desk.

Comment: Quickly shipped. I use the impact driver every day I work and love it! The drill is powerful and the fluorescent light is great because you don't have to aim it directly on your work, just get it close. I am sold on Makita products.
